Sheikh Sadiq Al-Ghariani, the Muslim Brotherhood's Grand Mufti of Libya, said in a June 17, 2020 show that aired on Al-Tanasuh TV (Libya) that the supporters of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar are in clear violation of shari'a law and are fighting as a proxy for a "Zionist project" meant to protect Israel and the enemies of Allah by preventing Middle Eastern countries from being free. He said that these people's actions are worse than the Tatars and the Mongols and that they must be held accountable for all the people they have killed.
Sadiq Al-Ghariani: "These [Haftar supporters] violate the shari'a. They violate the shari'a, in the full sense of the word. They seek support from the enemies of Allah against us. They fight as a proxy for a Zionist project. Nobody doubts this. The support of the U.A.E., Saudi Arabia, France, and others, is essentially a Zionist project to protect the Zionist entity, by creating a belt in which all the countries that are close to the Zionist entity will not be in control of their affairs, will not be free, and will not threaten Israel's security. Basically, the project is to protect the enemies of Allah - to protect an enemy that has invaded Palestine and Jerusalem and has challenged all the Islamic countries.

"The leaders of this project, who are fighting forcefully and viciously, are saying that obeying Haftar comes before obeying Allah.
[...]
"Their actions are worse than those of the Tatars and the Mongols. They must be treated accordingly.

"They will be held accountable for everything they have done - for the cities they've destroyed and for the people they've killed, because they are stubborn in their rejections of Allah's law, and they oppose Allah and His Messenger."
