On August 29, the Jordanian chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood held a big rally in support of Hamas, following the Gaza war. The General Guide of the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood, Sheikh Himam Said, called upon "official Jordan," in reference to King Abdallah, to cut ties with "the Jews" and support the Palestinian "Jihad" if he wanted to survive.
Following are excerpts:
Himam Said: Indeed, jihad means victory or martyrdom, and today it means victory as well as martyrdom, of ‘Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam.
I have a message to official Jordan. This message is not directed at the people of Jordan, for the people of Jordan are here… The entire population of Jordan supports the resistance and the jihad – the tribes as well as the refugee camps, from north to south… Say "Allah Akbar!"
Crowd: Allah Akbar!
Himam Said: Oh Mash'al, tell Haniya that all of Jordan supports Hamas. All of Jordan supports Hamas. Oh Mash'al, tell Haniya that all of Jordan supports Hamas.
I say to official Jordan: Your ties with the Jews are hopeless, and the partner of the hopeless is hopeless too. The Jews will be gone, and if you want to survive you must remain with the people, with the resistance, with the jihad. It is not your place, nor anybody else's, to surrender and support partnership with the Jews. Is it not sad that Netanyahu, according to the news agencies, is welcomed in Amman, having emerged from Palestinian blood, his hands soiled with the blood of Palestinian children?
What has Netanyahu brought to Amman? Oh Jordanian people, say "no" to Netanyahu in Amman. Say "no" to ties between Jordan and the Jews. Say "no" to the embassy of the Jews in Amman.
