On March 22, 2015, Al-Jazeera TV aired a report about a paramilitary training camp for women near Aleppo, Syria. Women in the camp were shown shooting at targets.

Female Jihadist: We are a group of women from various provinces, who were able to join the "Women of Victory" training camp, Allah be praised. Thanks to the brothers and sisters who oversee this camp, and especially the sisters who taught us, we were trained in the firing of weapons, in assembling and dismantling them, and in their technical specifications as well as in many other skills. May Allah reward them for this. We were also given lessons in Islamic law and in the jurisprudence of Jihad, in order to fight in the battlefield, shoulder to shoulder alongside our men, our sons, and our brothers. The role of women is no less important than the role of the men.
