Former President of Al-Arab Medical University in Benghazi Abdel Hadi Moussa, a loyalist of former Libyan President Muammar Qadhafi, said in an address posted online by Al-Jamahiriya TV (Libya) on September 10, 2019 that the Libyan tribes and the men of the Republic of the Masses continue to "adhere to their commitment" to the spirit of the Arab Spring. He said that the youth of the Arab Spring had "suckled" from the ideology of the "great Muammar Qadhafi" and his 1969 revolution, and that there will be no social peace or solidarity until Libya is liberated from what he said is its current colonization. Moussa addressed Qadhafi loyalists in Cairo who celebrated the 50th anniversary for the September 1, 1969 coup.
Abdel Hadi Moussa: "I salute you on behalf of the Libyan tribes, which adhere to their commitment. I salute you on behalf of the men of the Republic of the Masses. They were in their youth before 2011, and today they are leading the celebrations in the Republic of the Masses. These young men did not benefit from [Qadhafi's 1969] Revolution, but they suckled from its ideology. They suckled from the ideology of the great Muammar Qadhafi. Gentlemen, Libya has been colonized. There will be no social peace or solidarity. There can only be liberation. You should know this. We must work to liberate the Republic of the Masses."
