Russian ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan said, with regard to the recent use of the Hamedan airbase by Russian bombers to launch strikes in Syria, that the cooperation was temporary and had the approval of Iran's Supreme National Security Council. He did not rule out such cooperation in the future if an Iranian-Russian agreement is reached on this matter. Dzhagaryan was interviewed by Iran's Tasnim News Agency on August 24.
