Large-scale military maneuvers held in Saudi Arabia culminated on April 29 with a military parade, which showcased Chinese-made ballistic DF-3 missiles. The parade was attended by Crown Prince Salman, the Saudi defense minister, as well as by top dignitaries from Gulf states and Pakistan.
Following are excerpts from a report on the parade, aired on Al-Arabiya TV.
Reporter: The military maneuvers took place simultaneously on three fronts – in the north, the east and the south. Their goal was to emphasize that the Saudi armed forces are ready to deal with any threat.
130,000 members of the Defense Ministry participated in the maneuvers, as well as members of the National Guard and of the Interior Ministry.
