Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Al-Zahar, formerly the foreign minister of the Palestinian Authority, said in an August 14, 2020 interview on Etejah TV (Iraq) that countries supportive of Israel have been hit the hardest by the coronavirus. As examples, Al-Zahar mentioned the United Stated and the Gulf Countries, as well as Israel itself. He claimed that there is not a single COVID-19 case in Gaza and added that Gaza would liberate Palestine in its entirety.
Mahmoud Al-Zahar: "What's happening now – the divine will that brought the coronavirus pandemic... if you inspect this, [you will find] that the countries that support the Israeli entity are the ones that have been the most affected. I specifically want to point out America, which has been hit the hardest in the world, and which is also the Israeli entity's number one supporter. Other countries that have been hit hard are the Gulf countries that have treacherously gone hand-in-hand with the Israeli entity. Their crops have suffered, their oil [industries] have suffered, their wars have suffered, and their reputations in the West and in the East have suffered. The Israeli entity is also suffering from the coronavirus and from disintegration, and it has a government that is unable to unite. Anything or anybody who supports the Israeli entity has been hit by the pandemic. We just need to look at the Gaza strip. It is the only place where the resistance is growing stronger by the day, and it does not have even a single case of coronavirus. There is no doubt that the resistance starts in the Gaza strip. It is Gaza that will liberate Palestine in its entirety.
