Syrian journalist Ahmad Kamel said in a January 23, 2020 interview on Channel 9 (Turkey) that America, Iran, and Israel are all Syria's enemies and that he is very happy they are fighting each other. He said that Iran and Israel are "100% one and the same" and that Iranian hatred of Arabs is "primitive, bloody, and pathological" while Jewish hatred of the Arabs is calculated and in line with Jewish interests. In addition, Kamel said that what Iran has done to Syria is worse than anything the Crusaders, the Mongols, the Tatars, or the Jews have done to it.
Ahmad Kamel: "There is an American decision to kill all the Iraqi leaders who are subservient to Iran. That's great! It's beautiful! When your enemies fight one another... After all, America is my enemy, and so are Iran and Israel. They are all our enemies to the same degree. When one enemy fights another, you should be happy. I am very happy."
Interviewer: "The Iranians, the Americans, and the Israelis are [our enemies] to the same degree?"
Ahmad Kamel: "Yes. The Russians, as well. Iran and Israel are 100% one and the same. The Iranian hatred of the Arabs may be a little bit more extreme than the Jews' hatred [of the Arabs] because it is primitive, bloody, and pathological. The Jews' hatred is somewhat calculated, and it is in line with their interests. [The Iranians] are like a wild beast on the loose."
Interviewer: "However, some see a possible rapprochement with Iran."
Ahmad Kamel: "These people are pathetic and stupid."
Interviewer: "They say that the Americans and the Russians are clearly the Crusader enemies, and that the Zionist entity is clearly Zionist, whereas with Iran, rapprochement is possible. This is what some people say."
Ahmad Kamel: "This is stupidity and brainlessness. Or, perhaps, these people are on someone's payroll. There is no third option. They have either a mental defect or a defect in their conscience. Iran is an extremely dangerous enemy. What the Iranians and their collaborators have done to us in Syria was not done even by the Mongols and the Tatars."
Interviewer: "Their argument is that [Iran] is an Islamic country."
Ahmad Kamel: "What this Islamic country has done to us was not done to us by the Crusaders, the Mongols, the Tatars, or the Jews. What the Shi'ite Iranians have done to the Syrian people, was not done by the Jews. Absolutely not. [The Iranians have done] far worse than the Jews, Crusaders, Mongols, and Tatars. Their hatred, loathing, and animosity... Their ambition to change the demographics... They hate us and treat us as if we were the ones who killed Hussein."
