Yemeni-Houthi Naval Staff Brigadier Muhammad Hussein Al-Mansour said on November 19, 2023 show on Al-Masirah TV (Houthis-Yemen) that the Houthi navy’s mission is to target Zionist interests in the Red Sea. In response to a question by the show’s host, whether American or even Arab intervention on behalf of Israeli ships would make them targets of the Yemeni armed forces, Al-Mansour said that any ship that aids or cooperates with the enemy will be considered an enemy ship. He added that this would make them legitimate targets.
Al-Masirah TV host: "If there is any kind of intervention by the Americans, or by any other force – maybe even Arab – as a reaction to this operation [seizing the Galaxy Leader ship], will the Americans – or any other force that intervenes in support of the Israelis – become targets for the Yemeni armed forces?"
Muhammad Hussein Al-Mansour: "Absolutely. Our mission now is to target Zionist interests in the Red Sea. This is the mission of our naval forces now. But in case any ship intervenes, or any ship that comes to their aid... I am talking about ships that cooperate or aid the enemy – by providing camouflage or any other way, for example. We consider these ships to be enemy ships, and they are legitimate targets for our naval forces.
"If any ship intervenes – it should know the results. The results will be lethal. We are prepared for any kind of naval operation. We are prepared, and we have numerous units – rocket units, units that deal with naval mines, and units that can board ships and take them over. Any ship that intervenes is in great danger. We consider any ship that attempts to save another ship to be an enemy ship, and a legitimate target."
