Yemeni Houthi politician Ali Al-Halili, the spokesman of the Future of Justice Party, said in a September 8, 2020 interview on Ofogh TV (Iran) that the UAE’s "obscene" act of normalizing relations with Israel will not be met with silence by the Yemenis. Speaking in fluent Farsi, Al-Halili added that the UAE and Israel have united into one entity and are in a war against Yemen. He quoted Houthi leader Badreddin Al-Houthi's threat to attack Israel and said that the UAE has become a second Israel. Al-Halili claimed that the Houthis are in possession of missiles with a range of 1,500-2,000 kilometers.
Ali Al-Halili: "The UAE's public obscene act [of normalizing relations with Israel] will not be met with silence on the part of the Yemenis. Today, the UAE is fighting against us. We have the right to speak, to do something, or even to fight. This is a legitimate right. This is self-defense."
Interviewer: "So you mean that they are now fighting against Yemen."
Al-Halili: "Yes, and at the same time, they have united with Israel against Yemen. My interpretation is that this is an alliance against Yemen. Israel wanted to operate clandestinely in Yemen, but it failed, so now it wants to do it publicly. This is what we spoke about, and it is what Abd Al-Malik [Al-Houthi] said. Yemen's fighters and mujahideen, and among them the leader of Yemen's revolution, said a few months ago: 'We will strike Israel. We have missiles that can reach Israel, and we will strike Israel and the Zionists.' Today, we also say that the UAE has publicly turned into a second Israel in the region. We are not the ones stating this. The Iranian resistance fighters are not the ones stating this. The UAE itself has publicly declared that it has united with Israel and that it and Israel are one entity. The Emiratis today say that they have given the island of Socotra to Israel. Today, thank God, we have capabilities, missiles… We have ballistic missiles [with a range] of 1500 km, 2500 km… We have cruise missiles, Quds missiles… Praise be to Allah. Before the war, we were a failing state, but with the help of God, we have used this war and gone from weakness to strength."
