On November 21, 2023, a Bahraini group claimed to have carried out cyber attacks targeting the servers of the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Information, and the website of the Bahraini Crown Prince. The group claimed it successfully hacked highly sensitive data.
In a Telegram statement, the group explained the attack was carried out to show support for the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip and to protest recent remarks from Bahrain's Crown Prince condemning the October 7th Hamas attack.
In a subsequent post, the channel shared one of the "thousands of documents" it said the group seized from Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs servers. The document, an internal memorandum signed by the head of the Protocol Sector, included the names of Russian and American diplomatic attachés, along with copies of passports and requests for the renewal or issuance of new diplomatic cards.
