In a video celebrating the 20th anniversary of the launch of its first rocket, the Qassam, Hamas warns that its rockets will continue to "terrorize the enemy" and "turn the plundered settlements into ghost towns." The video, which was posted on Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Online on October 26, 2021, gives an overview of Hamas's rockets, from its first locally-manufactured "primitive" Qassam to the M75 that was first to strike Tel Aviv in 2012, and the most recent addition to Hamas's rocket arsenal, the Ayyash 250, which was used in its May 2021 conflict with Israel.
On-Screen Text: "On October 26, 2001, the first Qassam rocket made its way to our occupied cities. Even though that rocket was primitive, it shook the tyrannical might of the (Zionist) entity and the hearts of the hypocrites. It was named after the martyred Sheikh Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam. It was manufactured by commander Nidal Farahat, and his comrade, commander Tito Masoud. Commander Adnan Al-Ghoul participated in its production.
"Following the success of the first experiment, the engineers of the Brigades worked diligently to make it more lethal to the Zionists. Within months, the Brigades increased the rocket's range and destructive power. When the Zionists fled Gaza, the third generation of the rocket was pouding the plundered settlements.
"After that, Al-Qassam Brigades began a new phase of local rocket production. The surprise came in 2012, when the M75 missile hit Tel Aviv. Hamas put one generation of rockets after another into service, the recent being the Ayyash 250, which hit the south of occupied Palestine during the Sword of Jerusalem war. To this day, there have been more than 10 generations of disclosed, locally-made Al-Qassam Brigades rockets. The Al-Qassam Brigades rockets will continue to terrorize the enemy. When these rockets decide to pay a visit, they will turn the plundered settlements into ghost towns."
