On July 28, 2020, American academic Dr. Naseer Alomari and former Iranian diplomat Amir Mousavi were interviewed on Russia Today TV. Mousavi claimed that fires and explosions have recently been devastating the United States. Dr. Alomari responded that this is false. He said that the Iranian regime is bankrupt and being paralyzed by the economic sanctions against it. He accused Mousavi of living in "another world" in which America and Israel are defeated. Dr. Alomari elaborated that Iran has not killed a single Israeli or American despite its constant threats and chants of "Death to America" and "Death to Israel." He added that Iran has only killed Syrians, Iraqis, and Iranian citizens, while Israel has been unilaterally attacking Iran.
Dr. Naseer Alomari: "[Iran's] regime is bankrupt, and it is under sanctions that are paralyzing its economy. All these threats against America and Israel have been to no avail, because they killed Soleimani and his blood just went down the drain. Today, the foundations of the Iranian regime are being targeted. They are targeting factories and facilities, and all we hear from Iran and empty slogans, like 'Death to America' and 'Death to Israel.'"

Amir Mousavi: "Anyone who does not see what is happening in America has a problem. Fires and devastating explosions have wasted 5-6 billion dollars, along with fires that broke out in power plants, and the chaos that prevails throughout America. The American administration is unable to deal with coronavirus, nor with the beginning of secession of several states. They do not show all this, of course."

Alomari: "I don't know what he is talking about when hey says there are fires in America. I am in America, and he tells me there are fires here? He tells me that America is... This man lives in another world. America is strong, steadfast, and imposing sanctions upon you. Israel is bombing you in Tehran. You are the one who said that if America or Israel attacked you, you would destroy them, and the bodies would fly through the air. After Soleimani was killed, you said the bodies would fly through the air. Where are the bodies, sir? The only bodies flying through the air are those of Iranian protesters who were killed, the bodies of Syrians that you kill, and the bodies of the Iraqis that you shoot in Iraq. These are the ones who die. Not a single Israeli has died... I dare you to tell me if you have killed even one Israeli or American.

"Israel provokes Iran every day and bombs it. It is unilateral provocation and unilateral bombing. It seems that the Iranian regime does not want to fight, even though for 20, 30, 40 years it hasn't stopped saying 'Death to America.' Today, Israel is bombing it, but Iran does not want to fight. Israel is bombing the PMU and the Iranian militias in Syria... How is the war supposed to begin, when one side is cowering down in the face of America and Israel and refuses to fight?
