In a January 12, 2024 Friday sermon delivered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Ayman Aishat, CAIR director of Mosque Engagement said that the Zionists plotted to remove the Quran out of the hearts of the believers. He said that this was decided when Herzl gathered with "his people, the Zionists" in Basel, Switzerland and that they plotted to divide the Muslims and appoint "the worst of their people as leaders." Aishat said that this has made it easier for Muslim countries to be conquered, destroyed, and controlled. The sermon was streamed live on the Facebook page of the Islamic Center Masjid Al-Sabareen.

Ayman Aishat: "[In the past], we were on Islamic nation, and we are divided into 66 plus [Muslim countries] now. So they were able to control, destroy, steal the resources, the money, oil, animals, gold, mines, and everything, and control the Muslim nation's countries.

"And even worse, when they gathered in Basel, Switzerland in 1895 [sic], and Herzl gathered with his people, the Zionists, and said: 'We will take the Quran out of their hearts and put alternatives, divide them, and we will appoint the worst of their people of top of them as leaders.'

"See what happened, we lost Palestine just 53 years after that. And look what is going on in Palestine, Yemen, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Syria, Kashmir, the Uyghur brothers, the Rohingya...You name it, I can't name all the Muslim countries that are facing catastrophes, in Somalia...in Libya...It is a much easier job for the enemies of Allah, for the Devil, and the supporters of the Devil, to conquer us, destroy our countries, control us.
