Against the backdrop of the trial of Hizbullah's Al-Manar TV, the Lebanese media held a conference to mark a "Day of Solidarity" with Al-Manar TV. The Lebanese Journalists' Association held a conference, which was aired live on most Lebanese TV channels. The following are excerpts:
Milhem Karam, president of the Lebanese Editors' Association: This is new false Israeli propaganda, as usual. None of us is an antisemite. We are all Semites. We are not Aryan. Today, among the 13th Jewish tribe, there are those who say that the Jews are Aryans. Whether we are this or that, none of us would imagine coming out against the Jews and Judaism. We oppose the Israeli hegemony, the Jews' actions, and Israel.
There has been mobilization against knowledge and history because Al-Shatat was a triumph for Al-Manar, that glorified Arab science and knowledge. The Jews in France today are not in the best situation. Thus, they go back to the history of the Holocaust and Auschwitz and use these events to gain sympathy. But the magic of these events is gone.
Israel has been sentenced to exile - Allah said so in His Book.
Head of the Lebanes Journalists' Association, Muhammad Ba'lbeki: The participants in this conference emphasize that antisemitism is the last excuse Israel should turn to in order to mislead international public opinion.
Semitism is not an Israeli monopoly. Indeed, the Arabs are also Semites and it is impossible for them to be their own enemies. It is Israel that is damaging the image of Semitism, with its actions that challenge humanity and that are a provocation to anyone in the world with a conscience.
