Following are excerpts from a public address delivered by Jordanian MP Muhammad Abd Al-Qader, which aired on Al-Jazeera TV on December 28, 2008:
Muhammad Abd Al-Qader: The Koran says: "Fight them, Allah will torment them by your hands. He will bring them to disgrace, and grant you victory over them. He will heal the hearts of the believers." Brothers, I do not expect anything good from the ruling regimes in the Arab and Islamic world. The multitudes must realize that these regimes have become strategic allies of the Jews. They have promised to defend the borders of the state of the Jews, and to kill any mujahid who breaks through these borders. But I hope that these believing multitudes have lost their faith in these regimes, and that they will join the ranks of Jihad, of fighting. Yes, you should know, people, that Jihad now means fighting, and that it is a personal duty incumbent upon every Muslim man and woman.

Muhammad Abd Al-Qader: Yes, [Jihad] is a personal duty, not a collective one. A wife should set out on Jihad even without her husband's permission, a child should set out even without his father's permission, and a slave should set out even without his master's permission.

The borders must be broken through, this blood must be shed, along with the blood of your brothers, on the land of Gaza and Palestine, while fighting and killing the Jews.

Muhammad Abd Al-Qader: Oh men, do you not desire Paradise?
Crowd: Of course.
Muhammad Abd Al-Qader: If you mean what you say, seek a way to martyrdom and Jihad. No leader, official, organization, political party, or group can prevent you from breaking through the borders and fighting the Jews.
