Jamal Rayyan, a host on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar), said in a video that he uploaded to his YouTube account on January 31, 2020 that the Deal of the Century will not pass because it contradicts international law, it is unilateral, and the Palestinian people are completely opposed to it. He started to cry when he criticized Saudi Arabia and the UAE for supporting the deal and said: "Palestine will return. They are transient, but we are here to stay." Rayyan has previously expressed support for Hamas the Islamic Jihad (see MEMRI TV Clip No. 6533).
Jamal Rayyan: "This Deal [of the Century] will not pass because of the following three reasons: It is unilateral and came from the Israeli side. Secondly, it was met with a complete national-popular rejection. Thirdly, this deal contradicts all the international laws and the rights that stem from the U.N. resolutions. The painful thing about this deal is, as the saying goes: 'When my enemy hits me, I don't care, but when my friend hits me, I cry.' Why, UAE? Why, Saudi Arabia? The Palestinian people have never pointed their guns towards Saudi Arabia, the UAE, or any of their leaders, even when they acted treacherously. If Saudi Arabia and the UAE indeed want this deal, let them implement it on their own lands. They have vast lands, whereas we Palestinians have no land at all. In the occupied land of ours, there are about 7 million Palestinians. 7 Million others are in the diaspora. They are among the most capable of people. The Palestinian people are capable of building a state, but you want to kill the people. Why have you interfered in the destiny of an entire people in this rude and despicable way. This deal shall never pass because we are the owners of the land and we are the ones who have the right to it. Palestine will return. They are transient, but we are here to stay."
