AJ+, the online platform of Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar), posted a report about the "night disturbance unit" in the Jenin refugee camp in the Palestinian Authority on February 15, 2022. In the report, masked members of the unit explain that their unit consists of three teams: a surveillance team that monitors the movements of the IDF in the Jenin area, an engineering team that manufactures simple homemade explosive devices, and a "special unit" that hurls the explosive devices at Israeli soldiers and their vehicles. A member of the unit described an incident in which the unit hit four or five Israeli soldiers with their devices, and the soldiers screamed. The man said that one of the soldiers was crying out for his mother.

Narrator: "These young men began their military activity at the age of eighteen, without the support of any faction. They split into resistance groups and cells for 'night disturbance,' but unlike other Palestinian area, where this 'night disturbance' is mostly peaceful, this is not always the case here at the [Jenin Refugee] camp."

Palestinian Soldier: "In our night disturbance unit, we produce homemade explosives. When the occupation army enters Jenin or its refugee camp and villages, we at the surveillance unit… The night disturbance unit consists of three groups: the surveillance unit, the engineering unit, and the special unit.

"The surveillance unit monitors the occupation forces, the engineering unit delivers the explosive devices to the special unit, and the special unit hurls those explosive devices [on the target].

"These are simple explosive devices that we make on our own. We light them up and throw them at a soldier, a jeep, or the army. The entire [Israeli] army is afraid of them. We manage to disturb the entire army.

"You can hurl this explosive device from five meters away at a group of soldiers, and hit four or five of them. We could hear the soldiers screaming. We got very close to them. The surveillance unit was monitoring the occupation force, and the special unit threw the explosive devices. It was an explosive device like this one and two of these. We could hear the soldiers screaming. A soldier was crying for his mother. He entered Jenin and ended up crying for his mother."
