At the June 1, 2024 graduation ceremony of Brooklyn Muslim Community Weekend School, "Sister Hajjar" gave a sermon in which she said that Palestine is a "land of Islam." She said that if the soil of Palestine could speak it would say: "Where are you, oh Saladin? Where are you, oh my Muslim nation? I am sullied with the scent of the Zionists, I need to be purified again." According to the MCC Brooklyn website, the MCC Weekend School is an Islamic educational program that caters to students from the ages of 4-16. The graduation ceremony was streamed live on MCC Brooklyn on Facebook.
Hajjar: "Dear listener, what would the soil say now if it could speak: This land is a precious jewel in a world of dirt. The Prophets, the Companions, and the Saladin – time and time again, Allah has gifted this land to His most precious of servants.

"Palestine is a land of Allah, a land of Islam, the prophets and all of the Muslims. Brothers and sisters, the stones that were once soaked with the tears of Allah's most dear are now soaked with the blood of their followers, crushed under the weight of oppressive tanks...

I am sullied with the scent of the Zionists, I need to be purified again.' This is what the soil would say now, if only it could speak."
