Sheikh Muhammad Ma'moun Rahma delivered a Friday sermon at the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, Syria on February 8, 2019. He claimed that The Protocols of the Elders of Zion says that the Zionist Jews wanted to cause the collapse of the moral values of the Muslim nation in order to humiliate and occupy it. He accused the Zionist Jews of opening nightclubs, dance halls, and "dens of depravity and prostitution" in order to "drown [Muslims] in lust and pleasure" and "trample them underfoot," as he said is described in The Protocols. The sermon aired on Nour Al-Sham TV (Syria).

Sheikh Muhammad Ma'moun Rahma: Oh Arab nation, oh Islamic nation… The Zionist Jews fought this nation with a dangerous weapon: lust. Whoever reads The Protocols of the Elders of Zion will see that the Zionist Jews knew full well that they would never be able to vanquish, humiliate, weaken, and occupy this nation unless the moral values and principles of this nation collapse. So they exerted all their efforts – day and night – and invested huge amounts of money to open nightclubs, dance halls, and dens of depravity and prostitution to which they invited the Arab and Muslim youth so that they would spend all their time in those places. When the Zionist Jews partially succeeded – I'm sad to say – in achieving their goals, we saw how the Islamic nation declined and regressed, and how it forgot many of its duties and responsibilities.
