On January 1, 2021, Alahednews.com (Lebanon) aired a report about Fatah's 56th anniversary, which was marked in the Palestinian refugee camps in north Lebanon with a march in honor of the "Day of Rejecting Normalization with the Zionist Enemy." The masked marchers reaffirmed their commitment to the Right of Return and carried an effigy of U.S. President Donald Trump on a noose. Muhammad Fayyad, Sec.-Gen. of Fatah and PLO factions in North Lebanon, spoke at the event.

Reporter: "The people of the refugee camps in North [Lebanon] chose the first day of the new year as the 'Day of Rejecting Normalization with the Zionist Enemy.' Protest marches against American policies were conducted on the anniversary of the establishment of the Fatah movement, reaffirming its adherence to the Right of Return.

"The participants in the marches stressed that resistance is a strategic choice for Palestinians and that there should be no bargaining over even an inch of Palestine."

Muhammad Fayyad: "This great movement that was established in 1965, fired its first shot and began its armed struggle against the Zionist occupier in 1965 – is still fighting and waging resistance in all its forms, until the elimination of the occupation from our blessed land of Palestine, the land of our fathers and our forefathers."
