The Russian naval forces stationed at Tartus, Syria, conducted maneuvers on July 30 to mark Russian Naval Day, in the presence of Syrian and Russian commanders and Syrian government officials. General Hassan Hassan, Head of the Political Bureau in the Syrian Army, declared that "with the help of its friends and the fighters, Syria can destroy this terrorism."
